Quickly Hired

Recently we launched another website. Well technically it’s not really launched, although it is operational we are still toying around with that to do with it.

Robin and I have discussed using Quickly Hired as a recruiting technology platform. Something we can use to disseminate her vast knowledge of recruting to our user base. We also feel that we can help job seekers by providing sound advice to those that might be engaging with recruiters. Those that are looking to further their careers by actively engaging recruiters are the ideal candidates anyway right.

So with that in mind, we set out to build yet another site. Check it out if you haven’t already. Quickly Hired

In Time for the Holidays.

I have a dilemma this Christmas. What to get my significant other for as a gift this year. The usual jewelry seems so cliche.

No this year it’s going to be a watch. Let me tell you I have plenty of reasons why my girl needs a watch…Not that buying one will actually help us get to engagements on time. No I doubt that, after all girls are girls right. No, it’s more like a subliminal message. At least I hope it is.

Maybe having a nice watch will force her to notice what time it is more often. When she notices the time, she will likely think of me. You know because she is like that. It’s the little details that stick with my girl. The important ones. The ones that really matter.

That’s why she deserves a movado watch. Something that makes a statement. The team over at blue dial knows there watches, has a huge selection to choose from, and will ship the watch right to your door in time for Christmas. Best of all? You don’t have to deal with the ridiculous holiday shopping crowds. Just sit back and check our over 30,000 watches right from the comfort of your own home.

Posted by | December 3, 2009 | Job Search

Robin has scored a winner in the article she recently wrote over at Quickly Hired. QH is a sister site to jobshouts.com whose goal is to educate recruiters and job seekers about current trends in hiring, recruiting, and job searching. These trends can run the gamut from social media to business networking. If you have not had a chance to check out the article, I strongly suggest you do as there is a wealth of information to be learned from our founder Ms. Robin Eads.

Any work out there?

Trying times have people trying new methods when looking for jobs. While Jobshouts.com lists over 1300 currently available positions, that is no where near the number of actual jobs that are out there. We back fill positions from Indeed, and Simply Hired. In addition there are a few other sites worth mentioning.

Linkup.com – A newer job board that only lists positions from employers web sites.

Jobing.com – a great new gen job board that is broken down into regional sections.

When we look around we see a lot of information. We see who is hiring I mean after all we do run a job board. So this post is dedicated to those that are looking for work in the state of Florida.

Florida is home to many companies, has the blah blah blah largest workforce demographic. Look, I know all that stuff is irrelevant what you need to know is where are the jobs.

MyFlorida is a good place to start looking for jobs with the state of Florida. When you Google “Florida jobs” they are one of the first results.

Jobing lists several local employers and seems to be one of the new generations of job boards. Many positions and if you have not been looking there you are definitely missing out.

JobHunt.org maintains an extensive list of links to many unique florida job sites, including private companies and state agencies. Another can’t miss site to check out for Florida Jobs.

From a job boards perspective….We know that in this economy the bulk of the jobs are in Sales, Medical, and Finance. These sectors are dominating every other category with the amount of jobs to be found online.

As always we hope this information helps you in some way. We wish we could help everyone find a job, hopefully some of the information we pass along helps you.

Like most job seekers, you’ve no doubt applied to job listings on the major career boards like Monster, CareerBuilder and HotJobs. In doing so, you’ve likely seen little or no response to some applications although you keep seeing that same job every time you log in.

It’s frustrating as a job seeker to see the same job over and over, knowing you’ve applied and are qualified for the job but haven’t been contacted. Why does this happen? Are they looking for the “perfect” candidate?

No.

Chances are they aren’t even really looking for a candidate.
