Accounting Manager | Apparel Industry

Our firm is looking for a well-qualified and motivated Accounting Manager with extensive apparel industry experience to support one of our large clients in the Los Angeles area.

The ideal professional will have 6+ years of progressive accounting experience and a CPA with Big Four experience would be highly desirable. If this description of technical skills and educational background match your skillset and expertise, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for financial reporting, managing the month end close process resulting in producing general ledgers
• Directly supervising general ledger staff accountants and bookkeeping reporting
• Manage monthly account reconciliation process for all balance sheet accounts and approve all journal entries
• Oversight of the intercompany account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal control policies and procedures
• Responsible for supervising, training and the development of staff
• Primary contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
• Responsible for local, state and federal census/compliance reporting and provide ad hoc reports as needed

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required
• CPA preferred but not required
• 6+ years of accounting experience within the apparel industry
• Strong ERP systems experience required
• Must possess the ability to multi-task and help senior staff with their day-to-day
• Experience with all aspects of billing and collections
• Experience with hands on reconciliation analysis  
• Demonstrated a strong understanding of financial reporting and previous public accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, etc.
