Director of Financial Reporting

Etonien is a professional services consulting firm focused on project, interim, and interim to hire opportunities within the accounting, finance, tax, audit, and financial systems space.

Our consulting firm is looking for well-qualified and motivated Director of Financial Reporting with a diverse Public accounting background to support our client in the Woodland Hills area. This is an immediate need for an interim to hire engagement.

Job Description

  • Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements while collecting and assembling all supporting schedules and reconciliations Coordinate and review of monthly global reporting packages
  • Review of financial reports and accounting information to ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, SEC reporting, domestic and international tax, and IFRS if applicable
  • Lead SEC reporting process (10K) including working across the entire organization to refresh all annual disclosures; draft and review document; coordinate legal and executive review; and ensure quality and timeliness
  • Provide assistance and perform research on technical accounting and financial reporting matters
  • Develop formal reporting packages
  • Assist with financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Work to improve data quality processes and report design to meet diverse and changing needs for management reporting
  • Manage external quarterly review and annual audit processes, including the preparation of audited financial statements, footnotes and supplemental information
  • Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA (Big Four firm experience) strongly preferred
  • 4+ years of public accounting experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley reporting is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation and accounting theory
  • Auditing skills, with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts
  • Proficient with Excel — pivots, v-look-up, financial modeling
  • ERP system experience – Hyperion, Peoplesoft, SAP, etc.
  • Excellent communication and  interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional business acumen with a high degree of integrity and ethics
