TECHNICAL ACCOUNTANT

Our firm has an immediate need for a hands-on and well-qualified Technical Accountant to support our rapidly growing, start-up client in the Bay Area.

The ideal Professional will have 6+ years of public accounting experience, preferably with a Big Four accounting firm. A CPA and previous SEC filing experience for a large, public client is required. Responsibilities

• Responsible for technical accounting, large scale and international consolidations, SEC reporting and revenue recognition
• Responsible for financial reporting, managing the month end close process resulting in producing general ledgers
• Directly supervising general ledger staff accountants and bookkeeping reporting
• Manage monthly account reconciliation process for all balance sheet accounts and approve all journal entries
• Oversight of the intercompany account reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal control policies and procedures
• Responsible for supervising, training and the development of staff
• Primary contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
• Responsible for local, state and federal census/compliance reporting
• Provide ad hoc reports as needed

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA is preferred but not required (Big 4 experience highly desirable)
• 6-15 years of progressive accounting experience within large corporations
• IPO or pre IPO experience desired
• Technical accounting skills
• Large-scale or international consolidations experience
• Revenue recognition skills
• Experienced in preparation and review of SEC filings
• Strong systems experience and exposure to business intelligence and ERP systems- (SAP, NetSuite, Oracle)
• Experience with all aspects of billing and collections
• Demonstrated a strong understanding of financial reporting and previous public accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, etc.
