Accounting Manager 

Our firm has an immediate need for a hands-on, operationally proficient Accounting Manager, with consumer loan experience, to support our large client in the Oakland area.

The ideal professional will have 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, B.S. /B.A degree in accounting as well as a CPA (Big four experience preferred) and minimum 3 years management experience. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for financial reporting, managing the month end close process resulting in producing general ledgers and monthly/quarterly financial statement consolidations
  • Directly supervising general ledger staff accountants and bookkeeping reporting
  • Manage monthly account reconciliation process for all balance sheet accounts and approve all journal entries
  • Develop proper accounting processes for loan management in accordance to lender reporting requirements
  • Oversight of the intercompany account reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal control policies and procedures
  • Responsible for supervising, training and the development of staff
  • Primary contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Responsible for local, state and federal census/compliance reporting
  • Provide ad hoc reports as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • CPA required (Big 4 experience highly desirable)
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with both general ledger and financial statement preparation
  • Specialty finance Industry experience required as well as good knowledge of operations
  • Strong systems experience and exposure to business intelligence and ERP systems
  • Experience with all aspects of billing and collections
  • Demonstrated a strong understanding of financial reporting and previous public accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, etc.
