FAQ's
Q. How is JobShouts! different?
A. JobShouts! Co-Founder, Robin Eads, spent 15 years in IT/Telecom staffing and during that time used many, many job boards. Crafted from her own experience and the feedback of peers in her industry, JobShouts does what other job boards don't: save time and money.
JobShouts! is heavily integrated with social networking/media and job search engines. We have cultivated a true network of job distribution and sharing; we allow employers to tap into that network and find the true talent they seek.
Whether your organization is involved in social media or not, we allow you to recruit through social networks with ease. Shout jobs through your own Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and Yahoo accounts in addition to the JobShouts network.
As a job seeker, you can trust our content. We don't allow scam jobs to be posted. Our job listings are 100% real and posted by the employer or recruiter working to fill that position.
Q. How much does JobShouts! cost?
A. Our site is free for job seekers. If you're an employer, our pricing is here.
Q: What type of jobs ads do you accept?
A: Jobs ads for legitimate employment. We will not accept ads for work at home or internet/affiliate marketing "positions". JobShouts! will not accept ads that do not offer a position of gainful employment. In addition, we do not accept any "Confidential" ads. All advertisers using our service must list their company name. If you're a recruiting firm, then we suggest using your firm's name (not your client). We feel that by providing quality job leads, our community will grow and prosper. Our aggregate partners have strict requirements about job quality. JobShouts! reserves the right to refuse to publish ads which we deem inappropriate.
We respectfully request that job posters do not abuse our system. Do not sign up as a "confidential" user. Do not list bogus contact information and PLEASE do not post work at home, MLM or postitions that require an investment from the job seeker. Doing any of the aforementioned will result in your account being delted, your IP address being blocked and your overall exclusion from using JobShouts!
If you're an employer with a large number of jobs you'd like to post/import, please contact us so we can talk about importing methods and tailor a pricing structure or PPC campaign to meet your needs.
Q. How are applicants routed? Can I link to my Applicant Tracking System?
A: You have the choice of routing applicants via email or through an Applicant Tracking System URL. Each time you post an ad you have the ability to select the option you desire. Using the email option routes all applicant replies to the designated email address, which can also be chosen at the time you post the ad. You can either use a specific job ATS URL or you can designate a ATS URL landing page which will be framed by the JobShouts! site and include the job description in the left frame.
Q. Why can't I use certain functions of the JobShouts! site? For instance, when I try to purchase jobs, I can only select 1 job posting to purchase instead of 3, 5 or 10.
A. JobShouts! uses JavaScript. Make sure you have JavaScript enabled in your browser if some functions aren't working for you properly. If you have continued technical issues, please contact us!
Q: I posted my job. Why isn't it showing up?
A: We moderate all job postings. We do our best to approve job postings in a swift and timely fashion, usually within minutes. If your ad does not meet our guidelines it will not be approved for publishing. It may also be deleted without notice. Abusers of our system will be dealt with swiftly and unceremoniously. No warnings are given; we will just turn off the account.
Q. Once my job ad is approved, where does it go?
A. Once your ad has been approved, it's immediately shouted out through the JobShouts! twitter account, our Facebook Fan Page and our LinkedIn group. Within minutes, the job is indexed by Google. Within a few hours, the job is indexed by Indeed, SimplyHired & juju.com. From there, it gets picked up by thousands of other sites that are networked with all of the aforementioned channel partners, including "niche" sites.
For more exposure, we also provide premium job service listings for multiple job networks like Simply Hired and Indeed. These boards are tightly integrated within niche markets right where the best matching candidates are looking. We look forward to helping you get your job in front of the right candidate!
Q. Can you show me some metrics?
A. We sure can. We believe in transparency wherever possible. Take a look at our Demographics!
Q: How do I upload my resume? (or "how do I search resumes?")
We do not have a resume repository. There are no plans for a resume repository. Instead, one can sign up for a job seeker profile which keeps your preferences private and notifies you via twitter when a job is posted that matches your settings.
If you're an employer, we strongly suggest that you check out our Social Search tool. Search the web for resumes, or search user profiles on more than 7 different social networks & aggregates. Many people keep their social profiles up to date far more than their resumes. You might be surprised at the results you find!
Q. What can JobShouts! do for job seekers?
A. Job seekers can login using their Google, Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, AOL ID or a number of other logins to create a free (and private) user profile on JobShouts! Doing so allows you to receive instant notification via Direct Message on Twitter whenever a job is posted that matches your profile. (Edit your settings on Twitter to forward DM’s (Direct Messages) to your email or phone so that you don’t have to monitor Twitter actively.) This also ensures that you receive notification instantly, giving you the advantage and option of replying right away.
For now, all job seekers that sign up for a profile must also have a Twitter account. We’re working on a solution that will also allow you to choose how you receive that message (email, Facebook message, etc).
Additionally, you can become a fan of JobShouts on Facebook or join the JobShouts group on LinkedIn to receive updates about the latest jobs! Our blog also offers advice from career experts – covering topics such as how to prep for interviews, resume & cover letter writing tips, industry trends, how & where to find job opportunities, how to utilize social media in the job search.
Q: Is your site secure?
A: We feel our site is as secure as it can possibly be. We do not store personal information, twitter passwords, or resumes that are submitted to job postings. Those are immediately forwarded & deleted from our server. We do not need the security risks associated with protecting personal information. Our Payment Portal is SSL Certified.
Q. Do you have a Privacy Policy?
A. Yes. Our Privacy Policy can be found here.
