Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for financial reporting, managing the month end close process resulting in producing general ledgers
  • Directly supervising general ledger staff accountants and bookkeeping reporting
  • Manage monthly account reconciliation process for all balance sheet accounts and approve all journal entries
  • Oversight of the intercompany account reconciliations
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal control policies and procedures
  • Responsible for supervising, training and the development of staff
  • Primary contact for external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Responsible for local, state and federal census/compliance reporting
  • Provide ad hoc reports as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA and/or MBA is preferred but not required (Big 4 experience highly desirable)
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Experience within a start-up company preferred
  • Strong systems experience and exposure to business intelligence and ERP systems- (NetSuite, SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle highly desired)
  • Strong Excel Experience—pivots, v-look-up, access data modification
  • Experience with all aspects of billing, collections and inventory control
  • Demonstrated a strong understanding of financial reporting and previous public accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, etc.
